Gowen H-S-S DC No 2 demo guitar

Our next demo DC will be available to guitarists to play at our studio for social media collaborations or to play live on loan at UK gigs.

The finished guitar will be made to our top of the range DC No 2 spec (above), with H-S-S pickups, and a fully carved super Strat body. It will be available from mid April 2026.

Come and visit us at our studio in S E London and play a short demo for social media collaboration, talk about the guitar etc etc. We'll tag you in our post and reshare any posts you make about the guitar. We'll pay you 10% commission on any guitar sales generated from your social posts.

The 2026 Ash DC demo guitar is available for you to play at single gigs. We'll attend the show and photograph / video your performance, then tag you in our posts.

* NB We use 500k audio-taper pots with traditional 50s wiring as a standard wiring configuration  for humbuckers. This keeps the tone clear as you roll the volume back and gives smoother, more musical control. However, if you prefer 1960s or modern wiring for the wiring loom, just let us know!

The Bourns pots we fit generally have less friction in their action than the CTS pots - if you prefer a freer moving throw for live playing, choose Bourns, if you want a slower moving action, choose CTS.

Gowen Guitars – Demo Guitar Promotion

1. Overview of the Promotion

The Gowen Guitars Demo Guitar Promotion (“the Promotion”) allows selected musicians to use a Gowen Guitars demo instrument either:

  • at the Gowen Guitars studio for content creation, or

  • on loan for live performances,

in exchange for promotional exposure and potential commission on resulting guitar sales.

Participation in the Promotion does not constitute an endorsement agreement, sponsorship, partnership, or employment relationship.

2. Eligibility & Selection

  • Participation is by application only and subject to approval by Gowen Guitars.

  • Applicants must provide relevant links to social media profiles, websites, or video platforms as part of the application process.

  • Gowen Guitars reserves the right to accept or decline applications at its sole discretion and without obligation to provide reasons.

3. Demo Guitar Usage

3.1 Studio Use

  • Demo guitars may be played at the Gowen Guitars studio for filming, photography, or other agreed promotional purposes.

  • Studio use does not involve removal of the guitar from the premises.

3.2 Live Performance Loan

Where a demo guitar is loaned for a live performance:

  • Gowen Guitars will arrange delivery to and collection from the agreed venue.

  • The participant must ensure the guitar is fully insured under their own musician’s or personal instrument insurance for the duration of the loan period.

  • A refundable £150 deposit is required prior to the loan.

  • Participants are advised to carry a suitable backup instrument for live performance use.

4. Care, Damage & Liability

  • Normal wear and tear consistent with professional performance use is acceptable.

  • The participant is responsible for the guitar while it is in their possession or control.

  • In the event of loss, theft, or significant damage, the participant is responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement.

  • Any damage costs exceeding the £150 deposit will be payable by the participant.

  • Gowen Guitars will assess any damage reasonably and will provide details of repair or replacement costs where applicable.

5. Performance Use & Limitation of Liability

Demo guitars are provided “as is” for demonstration and performance purposes. While Gowen Guitars takes reasonable care to ensure that demo instruments are properly maintained and prepared for use, no guarantee is given that a demo guitar will be free from fault during rehearsal or live performance.

Gowen Guitars shall not be liable for any interruption to a performance, loss of opportunity, loss of earnings, reputational harm, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the malfunction, failure, or performance characteristics of a demo guitar. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall limit or exclude Gowen Guitars’ liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.

6. Promotional Content & Posting Expectations

6.1 Promotional Activity

Participation in the Promotion is conditional upon reasonable promotional support.

Participants agree to make reasonable efforts to create and publish social media or online content featuring the Gowen guitar they have played or used as part of the Promotion.

The format, platform, timing, and creative approach of such content remain at the participant’s discretion, provided that:

  • Gowen Guitars is clearly referenced, and

  • any agreed tracking link, QR code, or attribution method is used where applicable.

6.2 Creative Control

Gowen Guitars does not require pre-approval of content and does not seek to control the participant’s creative expression, provided content is created and shared in good faith.

7. Good Faith, Feedback & Brand Conduct

Participants agree not to publish content relating to Gowen Guitars or the demo guitar that is knowingly false, misleading, defamatory, or created in bad faith. Nothing in these Terms restricts a participant from expressing honest personal opinion or artistic perspective.

Where a participant has concerns, criticisms, or negative feedback regarding a demo guitar, they are encouraged to raise such feedback privately with Gowen Guitars before publishing public commentary. Gowen Guitars reserves the right to withdraw participation in the Promotion if published content is reasonably considered to cause material harm to the Gowen Guitars brand or reputation.

8. Content Rights

  • All promotional content created by the participant remains their intellectual property.

  • By participating in the Promotion, the participant grants Gowen Guitars a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to repost, share, or reference such content for marketing and promotional purposes, with credit provided where reasonably possible.

9. Commission & Attribution

9.1 Commission

Participants are eligible to receive a 10% commission on completed guitar sales that are directly attributable to their participation in the Promotion.

Commission is payable only once:

  • a customer has placed an order, and

  • the guitar build has been completed and paid for in full.

9.2 Attribution

Sales must be tracked via Gowen Guitars’ approved attribution methods, which may include personalised links, QR codes, referral identifiers, or enquiry forms.

Attribution decisions will be made in good faith, and Gowen Guitars’ determination shall be final.

10. No Guarantee of Sales

Gowen Guitars makes no guarantee that participation in the Promotion will result in enquiries, sales, or commission payments.

11. Termination

Gowen Guitars may withdraw a demo guitar or terminate a participant’s involvement in the Promotion at any time where:

  • these Terms & Conditions are breached,

  • the demo guitar is misused, or

  • continued participation is reasonably considered detrimental to the Promotion or brand.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
